This week there were quite a few ethical issues. TikTok was involved in two, including it suggesting misinformation to promoting unhealthy viral challenges. Another common theme was where do you draw the boundaries when it comes to student loan forgiveness to public/work-life boundaries. There were also a few articles that showed multiple facets of purpose and greenwashing.

Once again, I didn’t have to look far for ethics stories this week. I strongly encourage everyone to read the HBR study on what ethical failures customers are least likely to accept.  There are also videos and Webinars from PRSA and PRCA and a link to some great ethics swag.

This week in public relations ethics there were some really interesting articles that look at duty, leadership and the need for counsel.

I usually can come up with punchy headlines for the weekly ethics roundup – but this week the topics are just too important, bizarre, and complex.  So, without further ado, five articles that raise ethics issues that will make you laugh, scratch your head and possibly creep you out.

The summer is heating up and so are ethics issues. It is probably easier to ask what violation of PRSA’s code of ethics didn’t happen this week – fraud; lack of transparency and disclosure; and attacks on purpose are just a few.

This week there were just a few prominent ethics stories – but boy were they big.  From The Oscars (do you know something happened?), to conflict of interest in the judiciary to an interesting PRCA study on PR ethics in Africa, there are some great topics to discuss.

How big a threat are deepfakes? What drugs are OK to send to Russia? Do ethics matter to employees? What is ethical lobbying?  This week there were some great stories – and a funny Dilbert cartoon on ethics.
